It was a beautiful sunny day outside today. You could definitely tell that the air has cooled back down again though. We were back down into the 30's. Tomorrow we are supposed to hit 50 before it drops. This winter has been so bizarre as far as the weather goes. We never know what to expect, from one day to the next. It hit 70 two days ago! How is that for January weather? Oh well.. We have all our cold weather stuff, so we'll just continue to play it by ear. I was just glad to have a nice day with no rain!!
Jason agreed to get another vehicle soon after we arrive in Alaska. It won't be until after we are settled in somewhat, but that's ok with me. Sharing the van is driving me insane!! I can never manage to do anything during the day. I'm so glad that I can pay most things online now!! It does put a damper on just everyday things getting done though. I'll be glad when I can just go without having to wait for him to come home.
Today we waited for Jason to come home and then took off to do some big things! We first went to Target to use the gift cards the kids got for Christmas. They were also allowed a little extra since they had some money from Nanny too! I swear, taking them all shopping is insane. It's not so bad when i'm doing the picking, but when they do it, well... that's a whole different ballgame. We spent about an hour in there, but I think the kids were pleased with what they got. Abbi and Megan got 3 different sets of earrings, with each box containing 2 or 3 pairs. John got 2 decks of Pokemon cards. (Can you believe those things are $10.00 to $20.00 a deck????) Matthew ended up with a Scooby Doo game that you plug into the TV. Oh, I almost forgot, Abbi got a ball and a singing My Little Pony that was on clearance! They had the cutest towels today! They were the hooded kind and came in different animals! I would have loved to get Abbi the "Mumpee" one!!! How cute that would have been!
After we left Target, we headed back to Brownsburg to Claire's Boutique. Megan has been asking for the last 2 weeks to get her ears pierced, and I am finally taking her. To tell you the truth, I really didn't think she was going to do it. On top of that, once she was in the chair with her ears dotted, the woman sat there talking to her for forever! I wanted to say, "Hello!!! She's just getting more nervous!!". Well, sure enough, Megan decided she wanted Abbi to go first. I thought "NO WAY!!" I knew if she saw Abbi, she wouldn't do it. So I finally convinced her that it wouldn't hurt much, just to hurry and get it done. And she did!! She was so excited! Just an ouch and a couple of tears, but beautiful pink Daisy's in her ears. =) I'm so proud of her!! Abbi went next, and of course much quicker. She sat on Jason's lap so he could hold her more tightly. We almost had a crisis as one of the backs didn't go on all the way, so the woman had to do it manually. She was quick though, and Abbi barely noticed. She was quickly diverted when we held the mirror up and she saw her "Beautiful Ears!!!". I have to say, the price of getting your ears pierced has sure risen in the last 10 years or so. It took $67.00 to get the girls done today. (I thought Jason was going to have a heart attack, but I reassured him by making sure he remembered that we don't have anymore of them to do. lol) Oh well.... They both look so pretty, it was certainly worth the money.
I don't have alot planned for the rest of the week. Sometimes that's good, and sometimes not. I really need to go through the kids toys and clean them out. That's probably going to be an all day project. I did get an e-mail today from the school basically outlining what I need to do to get the kids in Megan's class ready for Winter Wonderland. Never again will I get suckered into doing this again. I have no idea how I am going to fit this in with everything else. I'm dreading it already. I keep telling myself that after the Valentine's Day party, i'm free, but what if i'm not?? What if those devil people come up with something more for me to do in all of my "spare time"?? LOL
On Saturday night we are going to play some cards! Euchre (?) I have no idea if i'm spelling that right. I have ascertained that it's strictly a Midwest card game. It is fun though, so we're looking forward to it. It will be Jason, Matt, Katie and I. Katie is the girl that Matt is seeing right now. She seems very friendly and laid back when we met her on New Years Eve, so I am looking forward to chatting with her for longer than 5 minutes. =)
I'm going to try and add some pictures to the blog entries tomorrow. Especially the ones of the girls and their new earrings. =) Who knows how that will go. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
